• Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s June ruling permitting the Trump administration to cancel Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and Syrians, Haitians in the Springfield, Ohio and Blue Ash, Ohio areas have begun receiving summonses from the Department of Homeland Security ordering them to report to local ICE offices, as they no longer hold legal status to remain in the United States.
• ICE is presenting affected Haitians with three options: acceptance of a one-way direct flight home to Haiti plus $2,600 cash, immediate deportation, or placement under ankle monitors restricting movement to a 75-mile radius with mandatory check-in requirements for those still working through courts with pending asylum claims.
• Joshua Lisec, a Dayton, Ohio native and author of the forthcoming book Haitians of Springfield, confirmed through on-the-ground sources that it is no longer legally permissible for Haitians who held TPS to remain in Ohio or anywhere in the United States, as the status originated from the 2010 Haitian earthquake and spanned 16 years of continuous residency.
• Concerns were raised that ICE enforcement operations in Ohio could become targets of violence, with Minneapolis, New York, and West Los Angeles cited as prior locations where enforcement actions preceded attacks, and Joint Terrorism Task Forces noted as entities already monitoring the situation.

• President Trump announced from the Oval Office that his administration is establishing a new gold standard for childhood vaccine recommendations, reducing the recognized core vaccinations to 11 against the most serious and dangerous diseases, down from a prior schedule described as requiring 72 doses, which Trump stated exceeded the requirements of many European countries by as much as twice the number of doses.

• Human Events Opinion Editor Kenny Cody won the Republican primary for Tennessee State House District 11 last week, taking Cocke County, Jefferson County, and Hamblen County on a platform of public safety, cutting property taxes, slashing red tape, and putting Tennessee workers ahead of foreign nationals and outside corporations.
• Cody was the only state house candidate in Tennessee to earn an endorsement from President Trump, and he campaigned hard for it, knocking doors alongside his fiancée Kaitlyn Webb to make sure voters in his district knew exactly where he stood.
• Looking ahead to November, Cody is pushing a property tax cap constitutional amendment on the Tennessee ballot as a centerpiece issue, arguing it will attract business, lower costs for families, and deliver real economic relief to working people in House District 11.
