The U.S. dollar carries the designation of Federal Reserve note on its face — a debt instrument backed by nothing — and now faces 2 simultaneous threats: inflation outpacing economic growth domestically with the U.S. posting only 1.5% GDP growth last quarter, and the world actively moving away from dollar-denominated transactions externally.
Iran broke from dollar-denominated oil settlements and China stepped in to accept non-dollar payments, accelerating a BRICS-driven de-dollarization movement that is steadily dismantling the petrodollar system underpinning U.S. borrowing costs and global dollar circulation.
China recorded record gold imports in the first 6 months of the current year and a report projects Chinese gold reserves will surpass U.S. holdings within 3 to 5 years — while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's recent U.S. gold audit amounted to a visual inspection rather than a bar-by-bar purity verification, leaving serious questions about the true state of American reserves unanswered.
The Federal Reserve meets again in August in Jackson Hole to address interest rate policy, and strong indications point to the Fed moving to change how it calculates inflation in order to justify rate cuts — while President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill deregulation agenda plays a long-term game that Americans holding dollar-only savings may not have the financial runway to wait out.
3. Prosecutors File Stunning Tyler Robinson Confession In Charlie Kirk Assassination Case
Utah County prosecutors filed a 28-page memorandum urging Judge Tony Graf to send Tyler Robinson to trial for the capital felony murder of Charlie Kirk, who took a shot to the neck on September 10, 2025, while speaking to students at Utah Valley University on behalf of Turning Point USA in front of approximately 3,000 eyewitnesses.
Robinson turned himself in to law enforcement on September 11, 2025, after the FBI released surveillance video of the suspected shooter and his own parents recognized him — and prosecutors presented multiple confessions Robinson made to his roommate Lance Twiggs and others, including direct admissions that he used his grandfather's rifle and had been planning the shooting for just over a week.
Robinson now faces charges of aggravated murder as a capital felony, first-degree felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice for concealing the firearm and destroying the clothing he wore during the shooting, tampering with a witness, and a violent offense committed in the presence of a child — with prosecutors pressing for sentencing enhancements on the latter counts.
Judge Graf set a September 1 deadline to rule on whether Robinson goes to trial, with prosecutors declaring in their filing that this is likely the most straightforward bindover decision the court will ever see — while defense attorneys fought to discredit DNA evidence and block additional evidence from reaching the court during the preliminary hearing.
