4 JUNE 26 SITREP
1. Vickrum Digwa Filmed And Taunted Dying Henry Nowak After Falsely Claiming Racism To Trigger Arrest
Henry Nowak was stabbed five times on December 3, 2025 by Vickrum Digwa in the United Kingdom. Vickrum had falsely claimed to police via his brother Gurpreet that Nowak was the aggressor and had racially abused him, with Gurpreet calling 999 to relay that allegation and Gurpreet having not been charged in connection with the false report.
Body-worn camera footage released following public and political pressure showed Nowak telling officers he "cannot breathe" multiple times as he lay on the ground, after which officers handcuffed him while he appeared unresponsive, with a police source describing the decision to handcuff the injured and non-resisting teenager as "inexplicable."
The Independent Office for Police Conduct, led by director Derrick Campbell, stated there is no evidence of misconduct by the attending officers while simultaneously launching a review of a large amount of body-worn footage and other material, with Campbell confirming investigators are due to meet Nowak's family in the coming days and acknowledging the case has raised questions about the actions of the attending officers.
Digwa, who was jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years, filmed and taunted Nowak for approximately five minutes after the attack without calling an ambulance, telling Nowak "you're not dying bro" and "No, I didn't" when Nowak said "You stabbed me," with Judge William Mousley KC stating at sentencing that Digwa "continued to make films of Henry suffering, ignoring much of his desperation at having been stabbed," with the clips not played in court due to being described as too disturbing.
2. Karmelo Anthony Murder Trial Opens In Frisco Texas In Death Of Austin Metcalf
The murder trial of Karmelo Anthony opened in Frisco, Texas, with Anthony charged with killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Texas high school track meet in 2025, with prosecutor Bill Wirskye telling the jury in opening statements that Anthony "decided to take a knife to a high school track meet and provoke and go after another young man he didn't know, and plunged it into his chest, into his heart, causing his death," calling the act "unjustified, unprovoked murder."
Prosecutor Wirskye revealed in opening statements that Metcalf's final words were "I've been stabbed," spoken as he lifted his shirt before falling down the bleacher steps, where his twin brother Hunter came to attempt to aid him, with Metcalf described as not even knowing he had been stabbed at the moment the knife entered his chest.
The confrontation began when athletes in the Memorial High School team's tent told Metcalf he could not be in the tent, with Metcalf having been asked by his coach to "step up and be a leader" and telling Anthony he had to leave, at which point Anthony said "Touch me and see what happens," with Anthony subsequently attempting to flee after the stabbing before being stopped by several coaches, and Anthony allegedly telling coaches that Metcalf touched him first.
Outside the courthouse, supporters of Anthony threatened two men who had shown up in support of Metcalf, with one shouting "Imma push you if I get close enough, push you right into that grave" and "f*ck you cracker," while Anthony family spokesperson Dominique Alexander stated that the completed jury selection, which resulted in a jury with no black members, indicated Anthony was "not receiving a fair trial."
3. Spencer Pratt Appears Poised To Face Karen Bass In November General Election In Los Angeles
Spencer Pratt appears poised to face off against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the November general election in Los Angeles, with CNN reporting indicating Pratt made notable inroads with white voters particularly on the West Side and in the San Fernando Valley.
Pratt's support coalition consisted of Republicans, independents, and frustrated voters in whiter and more affluent areas of Los Angeles upset about quality of life issues, with his campaign strategy of referring to Karen Bass as "Karen Basura" in a Spanish language joke failing to connect with the diverse working class voters he will need to win a general election.
Pratt acknowledged after the first round that the city was bigger than he thought and that he did not get to visit different parts of the city he had wanted to, a statement that reflected a campaign that had largely focused on his own neighborhood rather than reaching across Los Angeles as a whole.
California Republicans had no sophisticated ballot-chasing and vote-curing operation outside of some areas in the Central Valley, with ballots consistently returning 90 to 10 Democrat, leaving Pratt needing to build both cross-community relationships and a vote-curing operation from scratch to have any chance of defeating Bass in November.
FINAL WORD
The murder of Henry Nowak and the trial of Karmelo Anthony show that violent crime with a racial dimension is no longer something governments can ignore or explain away. In Los Angeles, Spencer Pratt's rise signals that voters are done with Karen Bass and the failures she represents. The institutions that are supposed to protect people are failing them, and the public is starting to fight back. (
On today's episode of Human Events Daily, we're going to continue talking about the Henry Novak uprising in the UK. And now it's become even bigger because the trial has kicked off for Austin Metcalf here in the US.
