• Operation Epic Fury continued with operational control of Iranian airspace achieved by United States forces while naval forces expanded toward sea dominance as a United States submarine sank an Iranian warship with a torpedo in the Indian Ocean, marking the first sinking of an enemy vessel by an American submarine since World War II.
• Iranian attacks during the conflict resulted in the deaths of 6 United States service members, including Captain Cody Cork, Sergeant Declan Cody, Sergeant First Class Nicole Amore, and Sergeant First Class Noah Tegens following Iranian strikes during a weekend escalation.
• Iranian military activity expanded beyond the immediate theater when a ballistic missile launched toward Turkey was intercepted by NATO air defense systems with missile fragments falling in southern Turkey after the interception.
