26 JAN 26 SITREP
1. Trump Says He Had “Very Good Call” With Tim Walz As Immigration Fight Escalates
President Donald Trump stated that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called him requesting cooperation on issues related to Minnesota, with Trump describing the conversation as “very good” and saying both leaders were on a similar wavelength.
Trump said he informed Walz that Tom Homan would be sent to Minnesota and would report directly to him, with the stated focus on identifying and apprehending criminals already in state possession.
Trump stated that Walz understood the federal objective and expressed approval of Tom Homan traveling to Minnesota as part of the ongoing immigration enforcement effort.
Trump said a major federal investigation into more than $20 billion in alleged welfare fraud in Minnesota was underway and claimed the situation was partially linked to violent organized protests occurring in the state.
2. Far-Left Podcaster Jennifer Welch Attacks White Christians
Far-left podcaster Jennifer Welch described white evangelical Christianity as a cancer, naming figures such as Erika Kirk, Life Church, and Joel Osteen while criticizing Christian communities for political influence and wealth accumulation.
Welch claimed evangelical Christians weaponize religion against political and social opponents while simultaneously portraying themselves as persecuted despite holding cultural and political power.
Welch stated that more than 80 percent of white evangelicals voted for Donald Trump and cited this voting behavior as justification for opposing them as a political group.
The comments followed an incident in St. Paul where anti-ICE activists targeted a Christian church during a service after learning that a staff member was reportedly working for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
3. German Football Executive Calls For 2026 World Cup Boycott
Oke Göttlich, president of Bundesliga club St. Pauli and vice president of the German Football Association, urged European nations to consider boycotting the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Göttlich argued that the tournament cannot be separated from geopolitical tensions tied to President Donald Trump and said football authorities must confront political realities rather than remain silent.
He criticized FIFA President Gianni Infantino for awarding Trump a newly created peace prize during the World Cup draw ceremony in Washington, DC, calling the move evidence of political double standards.
While Göttlich called for coordinated European pressure, France’s sports minister rejected a boycott and FIFA stated it would continue planning the tournament despite objections from European officials.
FINAL WORD
The events outlined reflect escalating friction between federal authority, cultural conflict, and international institutions. Domestic immigration enforcement and political rhetoric intersected with ideological targeting and global sports governance decisions. Together, these developments show how political power struggles are unfolding simultaneously across local, national, and international systems.
On today's episode of Human Events Daily, the battle of Minneapolis continues and we've seen it turn bloody this weekend. You guys may have also seen yesterday, I spoke at the Scott Adams Memorial and it was incredible honor for me to be there.
